Hideaway [Aug. 21st, 2007|08:54 pm]

The movie itself is typical US cliché boredom (even though it is an adaptation of a novel by Dean Koontz), but it features none other than Godflesh as a guest appearance, playing "Nihil" in a bar. With actors dancing (not convincingly) to the song. It all looks half-fake-half-ridiculous (with the ridicule slowly increasing as the scene progresses), Nihil was never a dance song, but hey, there're Godflesh in a movie.

IMDB fails to credit Justin & Ben.

The scene itself begins at minute 39 of the movie.

Hah never bothered to see this but then again never knew they were that clear in the movie.

There's just "Nihil" off the EP, overlayed on the soundtrack, maybe it was played through the speakers, but the reverberation doesn't sound any natural.

By the way, since you've got your own records company, what would you say about a small-scale CD press of an album? Not JKB-related...

Hahaha I cant even afford to release my own stuff as often as Id like!
I really dont think I would want someone else to trust in me to get it done for them either Id crack under the pressure haha!

Its not really a material label anymore as it is.. Since moving 10 years or so ago its just been me and the work is too much to keep up with.. As you can probably tell from the lack of my own music on there, I barely have time for that now! That said I would still be interested in hearing something. Im not the only one that runs an 'indie' label, I know plenty that are active..

Did you check out Monotremata just curious? I hate hearing it but people say we sound just like a certain band mentioned in this LJ group alot.. They keep saying its that 1992 Pure sound heh.

It's electronic symphonic music, really it's in a bit of a state of disarray and it all needs a decent mix (with decent monitors...).

The composer said he'd love to see an album, but as he himself is both composer and sound engineer with Raven, he's never had time.

Any serious commercial release would be a matter of consulting with him and the legal drones of the publishing company. But from what he wrote, there shouldn't be much hassle.

Monotremata does sound like that. Though it'd benefit from Hampson's psychedelic guitar... :-P

Man did you ever see or hear them live when Hampson played in the band?
Not even gonna go there..
Im glad when I saw them for that tour in the US it was a two-piece again.

Oh, but in the studio it was a different matter altogether. Didn't Hampson also play on "Nihil"?
